Advisory Associate
Join our growing Advisory section as a full-time Advisory Associate. If you are a career-driven individual with some experience in Maltese tax and aspiring to ascent your career ladder, then this role might be your perfect opportunity to join our firm.
An Overview of What You’ll Be Doing:
- Researching, analyzing, and interpreting changing tax legislation in Malta and internationally.
- Conducting independent research on industries, projects, alongside other research tasks as deemed necessary.
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of documentation in relation to changes
in the capital structure of corporate entities. - Providing tax advice, including the drafting of tax reports in relation to both domestic
and international tax matters. - Advising on tax residence and domicile matters.
- Succession planning.
- Assistance with group restructurings.
- Planning work to ensure deadlines are met.
- Supporting with complex VAT assignments.
- Assisting with the preparation of relevant presentations.
- Assisting clients with provisional assessments or assessments issued by the Office of the
Commissioner of Revenue. - Liaising with the Office ofthe Commissioner for Revenue on clients’ VAT matters.
- Keeping up to date with legislation and conducting continuous research on VAT technical matters.
- Handling VAT compliance one-off jobs, such as VAT registrations and de-registrations.
- Compiling and submitting Intrastat declarations on behalf of clients.
- Conducting valuations, feasibility studies and business plans for SMEs as well as
multinational companies. - Assessing financial due diligence.
- Assisting clients with state aid funding from both an EU and local perspective.
- Assisting in writing of technical articles on advisory matters for the firms’ websites.
What We Are Looking for in You:
- Part-qualified accountant, economist, finance graduate or lawyer. Students who are
currently close to finalising their relative University courses will also be considered. - Possess basic knowledge of Maltese income tax related matters.
- Willingness to grow and specialize in the field of direct & indirect taxation.
- Be results driven, with excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Be able to work on their own initiative.
- Have an excellent command of spoken and written English (C1/C2 level).
- Be analytical with good problem-solving skills, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Work hand-in-hand with other departments to provide solutions to clients.
- Be willing to conduct independent research.
